The need for data engineers and analysts to run interactive, ad hoc analytics on large amounts of data continues to grow explosively. Although having to build a good website on a budget may be difficult, it’s important for both parties to come up with a set amount before the project even starts. The client should always specify what they want to achieve and how much they’re willing to pay to get it, and the agency should let the client know beforehand if this is possible.

3. Integrating Third-Party Functionality

Sometimes, clients may make requests for third-party functions that may not be easily integrated into the site. To prevent this, web design agencies should always consider integration when building a site. Most businesses and companies now have at least one social media account, so it doesn’t make sense for their site to remain disconnected.

When a website visitor shares an excerpt on a social media site like Facebook, Pinterest, or Twitter, other people who can see their posts may become interested in visiting the original post on the website. Properly integrating third-party applications and functions into a website can get it more online presence and popularity.

4. Suitability to Different Devices

There are many devices that people can use to access the web. From smartphones to desktop computers, from cars to game consoles, and even wristwatches and digital cameras, all of these can be web-enabled as long as there’s an available internet connection. 

Websites nowadays should always be compatible with any of the devices people might use to go to the website. They should look pleasing and load fast regardless of what device a visitor is using.

5. Security of Personal Information

Most websites require personal or financial information, whether for account verification, for website subscription, or something else. Websites should be designed with personal security in mind, which is even more important since hacking has been on the rise since the coronavirus hit.

One of the biggest threats that websites face today is phishing, or when an attacker will pretend to be a trusted contact and attempt to compel you to click a malicious link. Another is ransomware, or where cybercriminals hold customer data for ransom and attempt to extort online business owners. Yet one more is SQL injections, or where hackers will attempt to execute malicious SQL commands in your website’s database. 

The best practices in regards to web design to mitigate these risks include third-party plugins and themes, keeping all of your software up to date, setting your web applications so they run the fewest privileges possible, and utilizing SSL certificates and HTTPS protocols. 

Adopting Site-Building Platforms

Gone are the days where you had to be technologically gifted to design a website from scratch, usually through manual HTML codes. Back then, you had to know your way around the web if you wanted to set-up and manage a site of your own.

Now, there are a lot of good website builders that allow you to create websites in a faster period of time. Even web design agencies now make use of such builders in order to make the job easier and more convenient. Not to mention, it allows agencies to focus on the design alone.

When I first started following Charity on Twitter back in early 2019, I was quickly overwhelmed by the new words and concepts she was discussing. I liked the results she described: faster debugging, less alert fatigue, happier users. Those are all things I wanted for my team! But I was hung up on these big polysyllabic words, which stopped me from taking those first steps toward improving our own observability.

This post is my attempt to help orient folks who want to learn more about observability but maybe feel overwhelmed or intimidated by the vocabulary list, like I did. My goal is to get everyone on the same page about what these words mean so that we can focus on leveraging the tools and ideas to build better software and deliver more value!

La Branche Service-Courrier-Colis (BSCC) du Groupe La Poste s’appuie avec succès sur les solutions SAP BW /4HANA et SAP BI Suite pour répondre aux nouveaux enjeux du marché et réduire son Time To Market. Avec la volonté d’être davantage au service des métiers pour améliorer le service client, cette collaboration s’inscrit dans la transformation numérique de l’activité historique du Groupe La Poste. Cette dernière s’installe et se développe sur de nouveaux secteurs avec la volonté de simplifier la vie de tous et de chacun.

Les technologies SAP pour augmenter la qualité de service IT et client

Le projet, lancé en 2017 avec SAP BW/4HANA, est né de la nécessité de la BSCC de désiloter son organisation en place où chaque business unit était responsable du développement et du choix de ses outils BI. Le projet s’est alors bâti sur 3 grands enjeux :

  • Rationaliser, consolider et gérer l’obsolescence afin de converger vers une solution unique ;
  • Répondre aux enjeux métiers via un reporting opérationnel en temps réel et accélérer le Time To Market dans les projets ;
  • Avoir une vision 360 du cycle de vie de chaque produit passant par les chaînes logistiques de l’entreprise.

Depuis la mise en place des solutions SAP en 2017, la BSCC a uniformisé sa BI avec des outils clés en main pour les collaborateurs opérationnels (20 000 personnes). Tout est désormais centralisé et disponible quasiment instantanément pour être davantage au service des métiers et améliorer le service client.

Les 3 000 directeurs d’établissements sont depuis capables de mieux piloter leur activité, d’être plus réactifs mais aussi plus proactifs grâce à la fiabilité du SI. Enfin, cette nouvelle organisation apporte également une réelle amélioration de l’expérience client final permettant à la BSCC de faire des gains financiers significatifs.

Des coûts de run divisés par 6 et des gains financiers importants sur la partie TMS

La mise en place de SAP BW 4/HANA a permis le déploiement de cartographies mixant data source et volume d’informations, grâce à une plateforme permettant d’absorber de grosses volumétries de données. L’ensemble de ce projet a été mené en mode agile, la méthodologie S@fe ayant été déployée à l’échelle de la BSCC, pour permettre une meilleure flexibilité d’intégration et une meilleure coordination de travail entre les équipes.

Plusieurs projets ont pu voir le jour tel que le projet Osram, permettant de mesurer, analyser, piloter le raccordement qui est au cœur de la supply chain. La dernière version déployée permet d’ores et déjà de simuler la transformation de son réseau industriel qui est un enjeu majeur de la Poste pour améliorer la performance client. Ce projet offre une vision bout en bout de la collecte au dernier geste de distribution, ce qui est totalement disruptif et novateur par rapport au pilotage fait jusqu’à présent.

Enfin, la BSCC a pu améliorer son taux de satisfaction client, en mettant les indicateurs utiles à disposition des collaborateurs suite au déploiement de rampe de flashage permettant de suivre les contenants. L’analyse des fausses directions, une vision factuelle (et non plus déclarée) de l’exécution de ce qui a été planifié dans le contrat de service entre établissement et une meilleure connaissance des flux logistique contribuent à l’optimisation des niveaux de tri.

Eric Brun, Responsable du Socle Connaissance 360, explique : “Depuis la mise en place généralisée des outils SAP, notre coût de run a été divisé par six pour la partie back-end, tout en améliorant le time to market. La solution est fiable, simple et claire, permettant aux équipes de réagir rapidement en cas de problème. Sur le volet transports, l’ensemble du Transport Management System a été repensé pour offrir un outil intuitif permettant de connaître la moindre anomalie ou retard et optimiser le taux de remplissage de chaque camion. Le reporting Atlas Handling permet quant à lui une gestion plus performante et prédictive de notre conteneurisation.  Les gains financiers sont extrêmement importants pour le métier et coté IT le TCO de notre back end divisé par 6 »

« Nous sortons gagnants de la collaboration avec SAP qui nous apporte un vrai support sur nos enjeux court, moyen et long terme. Les équipes SAP nous nous ont réellement permis d’accélérer notre transformation. The digital world is a place of constant change. Just as you get used to a new design trend, another one appears, forcing you to rethink the way that you approach each client project. 

As a web designer, it’s up to you to make sure that you have your finger on the pulse on the latest transformations in the industry. However, it can be challenging to know for sure which trends you should be taking seriously, and which you can simply ignore. 

One option to refine and enhance your design journey is to pay attention to influencers. 

Influencers aren’t just there to guide customers into making purchasing decisions. These people are thought-leaders in their field. They spend all of their time tracking down ideas and concepts that really work. That way, they can maintain a successful reputation online.

Sourcing information and motivation from the following UX influencers could help you to create some truly amazing websites in 2020: 

1. Andrew Kucheriavy 

Andrew Kucheriavy is the phenomenal co-founder and CEO of a company named Intechnic. Andrew was one of the first people in the world to be given the “Master in User Experience” award. This means that he’s an excellent person to pay attention to if you want help understanding the ins and outs of user experience design

As one of the leading visionaries in UX, business strategy, and inbound marketing, Andrew has a lot of useful information to offer professionals and learners alike. Andrew is particularly active on Twitter, where he’s constantly sharing insights on design and marketing. You can also find input from Andrew on the Intechnic blog. 

2. Jeff Veen 

Another must-follow for designers who want to learn more about understanding their audience and their position in the marketplace, Jeff Veen is a leader in UX and product design. Veen got his start with the founding team for Wired, before he created the Adaptive Path company for UX consulting. Jeff Veen is also known for being responsible for various aspects of Google Analytics. 

Over the years, Jeff has expanded his knowledge in the design space, and mentored various companies, from WordPress to Medium. He also has a fantastic podcast that you can listen to for guidance when you’re on the go. 

3. Jared Spool 

Jared Spool has been tackling the most common issues of user experience since before the term “UX” was even a thing. Excelling in the design world since 1978, Jared has become one of the biggest and most recognizable names in the user experience environment. He’s the founder of the User Interface Engineering consulting firm. The company concentrates on helping companies to improve their site and product usability. 

Jared offers plenty of handy information to stock up on in his Twitter feed. Additionally, you can find plenty of helpful links to blogs and articles that he has published around the web on Twitter too. He’s followed by Hubgets, PICUS, and many other leading brands. Make sure that you check out his collection of industry-leading talks on UIE. 

4. Jen Romano Bergstrom

An experimental psychologist, User Experience Research coach, and UX specialist, Jen is one of the most impressive women in the web design world. She helped to create the unique experiences that customers can access on Instagram and Facebook. Additionally, she has a specialist knowledge of eye-tracking on the web. You can even check out Jen’s books on eye-tracking and usability testing

When she’s not writing books or researching user experience, Jen is blogging and tweeting about usability and researching new strategies in the web design space. It’s definitely worth keeping up with Jen on Twitter, particularly if you want to be the first to know about her upcoming seminars and learning sessions. 

5. Katie Dill 

Katie Dill is the former Director of Experience for Airbnb, so you know that she knows her way around some unique experiences. With an expertise in working with companies that harness new technologies and UX design, Katie Dill is at the forefront of the user experience landscape. Dill attends various UX conferences throughout the year, and publishes a range of fantastic videos on YouTube. 

You can find blogs and articles from Katie published on the web; however, you’ll be able to get the most input from her by following Katie on her Twitter account. 

6. Khoi Vinh 

Khoi Vinh is one of the most friendly and unique UX bloggers and influencers on the market today. He knows how to talk to people in a way that’s interesting and engaging – even about more complicated topics in UX design. Vinh is a principle designer at Adobe, and he has his own podcast called Wireframe. However, he still finds time to keep his followers engaged on Twitter. 

Over the years, Khoi has worked as a Design Director for Etsy and the New York Times. Vinh also wrote a book called “Ordering Disorder” which examines grid principles in web design. According to Fast Company, he’s one of the most influential designers in America. Additionally, Khoi has a brilliant blog where you can check out all of his latest insights into UX design. 

7. Cory Lebson

Cory Lebson is a veteran in the world of web design and user experience. With more than 2 decades of experience in the landscape, Cory has his own dedicated UX consulting firm named Lebsontech. Lebson and his company concentrate on offering UX training, mentoring, and user experience strategy support to customers. Cory also regularly speaks on topics regarding UX career development, user experience, information architecture and more. 

Cory is an excellent influencer to follow on Twitter, where you’ll find him sharing various UX tricks and tips. You can also check out Cory’s handbook on UX careers, or find him publishing content on the Lebsontech blog too. 

8. Lizzie Dyson

Another amazing woman in the industry of UX, Lizzie Dyson is changing the experience landscape as we know it. Although she’s a relatively new figure in the web design world, she’s recognized world-wide for her amazing insights into the world of web development. Lizzie also helped to create a new group specifically for women that want to get involved in web design. 

The Ladies that UX monthly meet-up welcomes a community of women into the digital landscape, helping them to learn and expand their skills. Lizzie regularly publishes content online as part of Ladies that UX. Additionally, she appears on the Talk UX feed – an annual design and tech conference held for women around the world. 

9. Chris Messina 

Chris Messina is a product designer and a technical master who understands what it takes to avoid disappointing your users. With more than a decade of experience in the UX design landscape, Messina has worked for a variety of big-name brands, including Google and Uber. He is best known as the inventor of the hashtag!

Chris is a highly skilled individual who understands the unique elements that engage customers and keep people coming back for more on a website. You can see Chris speaking at a selection of leading conferences around the world. Check out some of his talks on YouTube or track down his schedule of upcoming talks here. Chris also has a variety of fantastic articles on Medium to read too. 

10. Elizabeth Churchill

Last, but definitely not least, Elizabeth Churchill is a UX leader with an outstanding background in psychology, research science, psychology, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, human interaction with computers and more. She knows her way around everything from cognitive economics, to everyday web design. Churchill also acts as the director of UX for Google Material Design. 

A powerhouse of innovation and information, Churchill has more than 50 patents to her name. She’s also the vice president of the Association for Computing Machinery too. When she’s not sharing information on Twitter, Elizabeth also has a regular column that you can tune into on the ACM Interactions magazine. 

Who Are You Following in 2020?

Whether you’re looking for inspiration, guidance, or information, the right influencers can deliver some excellent insights into the world of web design. There are plenty of thought leaders out there in the realm of user experience that can transform the way that you approach your client projects. You might even discover a new favourite podcast to listen to, or an amazing series of videos that help you to harness new talents. 

Influencers are more than just tools for digital marketing; they’re an excellent source of guidance for growing UX designers too.

La Fondation SAP France et Enactus France ont organisé l’édition 2020 du Social’Tech Challenge. L’objectif de l’initiative est d’accompagner des projets de lycéens, étudiants et professionnels à développer leurs compétences pour innover et agir au service du plus grand nombre. Enactus France est une entreprise hybride experte de la pédagogie expérientielle et de l’engagement qui rejoint la volonté de SAP d’aider, grâce à la Tech, le monde à mieux fonctionner. Dotées de cette volonté commune, la Fondation SAP France et Enactus France lancent, en 2018, le Social’Tech Challenge, un concours visant à récompenser des projets mettant le numérique au service de la société.

L’association Enactus a pu compter sur la participation et la contribution d’une centaine de collaborateurs SAP. Ces derniers se sont portés volontaires comme mentors d’étudiants entrepreneurs sociaux, jurés du Social’Tech Challenge ou encore jurés de la compétition nationale Enactus. Les collaborateurs SAP ont ainsi sélectionné et monitoré les projets et ont également organisé la journée Boost ton projet Digital. Le 27 avril 2020, 5 projets ont été retenus par un comité de sélection :

  • Bric à Vrac « Pour que tout le monde passe au Vrac »
  • Easy Diab « Le diabète une maladie qui nous concerne tous »
  • Gesture « Vos contenus accessibles aux malentendants »
  • Ovéga « La permaculture accessible à tous »
  • Ticket App « Pourquoi ne pourrions-nous pas simplement avoir nos tickets de caisse sur notre téléphone ? »

La finale du Social’Tech Challenge s’est déroulée le 26 mai 2020 avec un jury d’exception : Caroline Garnier, directrice des ressources humaines SAP France ; Catherine Mort, conseillère cloud et innovation SAP France ; Erik Marcadé, directeur de SAP Labs Paris; et Sébastien Gibier, directeur de SAP.iO Foundry Paris.

C’est Ovéga avec son projet « La permaculture accessible à tous » qui remporte la finale et le prix de 5 000 euros. Le nom du lauréat a été annoncé lors du Festival Enactus qui s’est déroulé cette année virtuellement autour de 3 grands rendez-vous : la finale du Social’Tech Challenge, les demi-finales et la finale de la compétition nationale Enactus pour laquelle Frédéric Chauviré, DG de SAP France, a été juré.

  1. Being ADA & WCAG compliant is required by law (we’ll explain this further) so if your website isn’t compliant, you can get sued.
  2. It allows people with disabilities to browse your website, which increases your potential audience and it is the decent thing to do.

In this accessiBe review, we’ll cover:

How Does accessiBe Work

accessiBe is an automated solution that combines two applications to achieve full compliance.

Foreground application: the accessibility interface. This is the accessibility menu that allows users with disabilities to adjust the various UI and design elements on your website so it meets their unique needs.

Two things need to be mentioned here:

  1. Blind individuals have screen-readers installed on their computers in the OS-level, meaning, on the hard drive of the computer. Accessibility Orientation Adjustments Explained

The orientation adjustments allow full control of ‘distractions’ that make it hard for individuals with epilepsy, ADHD, and cognitive disability to browse the web:

As such, the orientation adjustments allow users to mute sound, hide images, stop animations and additional ‘focus’ features such as an enlarged cursor and reading assistance that highlights the text being read.

Screen Reader Compatibility Explained

Screen Reader is a software for blind individuals to use computers and browse the web. As the name suggests, the software reads aloud what is seen on the screen for blind individuals.

The screen reader software is installed on the computer. But in order for it to work with websites, the website needs to be compatible with the software. As such, a Facebook icon code simply says ‘link’ and has the URL that directs the user when clicking the link.

So with a website that isn’t compatible with a screen reader, that doesn’t have ARIA tags implemented, the screen reader will read to the blind person “link” for the Facebook icon; not very helpful, is it?

When ARIA tags are implemented, additional information is added to the Facebook icon – and any other visual link on the website – that describes what is the link. So the screen reader will read to the blind person “Facebook link”.

It’s not difficult to imagine the scope and effort of the work needed in order to implement ARIA tags on your entire website.

Keyboard Navigation Compatibility Explained

Keyboard navigation means that motor-impaired individuals are using their computers only through their keyboard, rather than a mouse. Scrolling, clicking links and menu buttons, opening and closing tabs – everything is done using designated keys.

There are many issues relating to keyboard navigation as today’s websites are highly complex, layered with content elements, and react dynamically to user behavior. Any element of the website must be compatible to allow full keyboard navigation.

Let’s look at a popup as an example.

Popups can be triggered for a variety of reasons. For mouse users, it is a simple occurrence; you can bring the cursor to the area of the popup, click on one of the fields to input details or click the X to close the popup.

But how do you handle the popup using only the keyboard? How do you differentiate between ‘regular’ functionalities of the website and that of the popup? How do you ‘shift the focus’ of the keystrokes to a layered element? You need to allow unique keystrokes to operate the popup, keystrokes that are activated only when a popup appears.

It’s one example of the many challenges making your website compatible with keyboard navigation. The list of WCAG requirements for compatibility with keyboard navigation is a long one, and understandably so as it needs to enable motor-impaired individuals to navigate your website with the same ease as the rest of us using a mouse.

Designing for emotion in and of itself is not a problem. Websites are bound to elicit an emotional reaction from visitors, even if it’s as simple as them feeling at ease because of the soft, pastel color palette you’ve designed the site with.

I don’t want to outright villainize emotional design. Unless there is some form of unethical manipulation at play, designing for your visitors’ emotions can actually provide them with a more positive experience.

So, here’s what I’d like to look at today:

  1. What is emotional design?
  2. When does emotional design cross a line?
  3. What’s the right way to design for emotions?

1. What Is Emotional Design?

When we look at emotional design in the context of a website, we’re focused on three types of emotional reactions:

a. Visceral Reactions

Visceral reactions are instinctive ones. Usually, visitors experience these as their first impressions of a website or web page. For instance, a cluttered or otherwise poorly designed homepage might leave visitors feeling overwhelmed, hesitant, or wanting to flea.

A minimally designed homepage interface, on the other hand, might have visitors not feeling much of a reaction at all. In this case, no feeling is a good feeling.

b. Behavioral Reactions

Behavioral reactions stem from the usability of a website. There’s a lot that can stir up negative emotions here, like:

  • Extra-long contact forms
  • Confusing menus
  • Error-ridden content
  • Slow-loading pages
  • And more

Again, if a website is easy to get through and attractively designed, visitors aren’t likely going to “ooh” and “aah” with every step they take on the site. And that’s a good thing. If they’re focusing more on how the design looks, they’re not paying attention to the brand’s actual offer.

c. Reflective Reactions

Reflective reactions are the third type of emotions we design for.

This is complicated because there’s a lot wrapped up in how visitors feel about a website after the fact. Sometimes the most well-designed interfaces and experiences can’t save them from a bad experience, whether they realized too late that the products were overpriced or they were treated poorly by a live chat representative.

As a web designer, all you can really do is to make sure you’re working with reputable companies and then aligning the designs of their sites with their values.

When Does Emotional Design Cross a Line?

There’s already enough social pressure online; your website doesn’t need to be one of those places, too

Emotional design shouldn’t be about manipulating consumers’ emotions. In most cases, emotional design is about controlling the environment of the website so that emotions don’t go spinning wildly out of control — in either direction.

It’s when we take what we know about influencing someone’s emotional state to monetarily benefit from it that emotional design becomes problematic.

Here are some ways in which you might negatively impact the emotions of your visitors through design:

FOMO

The fear-of-missing-out isn’t always a bad marketing strategy. However, when FOMO is used for the purposes of rushing consumers to take action now and without time to really think it through, it definitely can be.

Chances are good they’ll feel badly no matter what. Either because they regret the rushed (and probably unnecessary, or expensive) decision or they blame themselves for missing out on an opportunity to be like everyone else.

There’s already enough social pressure online; your website doesn’t need to be one of those places, too. So, be careful with how you present customers with limits (on time, on products, etc.) or how you frame the call-to-action (“If you don’t buy this now, expect to fail/be miserable/suffer even more”).

Analysis Paralysis

It doesn’t matter why people specifically seek out your website. They have a problem or a hole in their life, and they’re looking for something to fix it.

Now, you can’t help it if the website has too much to offer in the way of options or solutions. Companies have to provide every possible solution/option so their users don’t feel like they have to go somewhere else to get what they need. However, the way you design these options can lead to a negative emotional state if you’re not careful.

For instance, your visitors might experience analysis paralysis, where there are so many options that it becomes impossible to take action. Similar to FOMO, this can lead to regret either with the decision they made or the one they were incapable of making.

By simplifying how many choices are presented at once, or designing a clear and supportive pathway to the right option of many, your website will leave visitors feeling much more positively about the whole experience.

Trendy Nostalgia

Nostalgia can be a great way to play upon the positive associations and emotions consumers feel towards an era gone by or a place they once knew. But, again, it depends on how you design with it.

For example, if you design a vintage website for an agency launched in 2019 and run by a group of 20-somethings, it might come off feeling disingenuous once customers start to catch on.

For a restaurant known as the oldest bar in the state, that would be a different story. That nostalgically designed website would be a real part of its story; not just done as a sales gimmick. As a result, customers would likely embrace those warm feelings for the “good ol’ days” they get from the website.

Also, think about how quickly nostalgia fades if it’s done to align with a trend. Unless you’re committed to redesigning a website the second that nostalgic feeling falls out of favor, you could be condemning your client to an outdated website mere months after launch.

What’s the Right Way to Design for Emotions?

Like I said before, there’s nothing wrong with designing for emotions. You just have to make sure your website visitors don’t feel manipulated and that they welcome the pleasant feelings the site gives them.

It might seem harmless at the time. After all, what are they doing on the site if they weren’t interested in the first place? And it’s not like they were bullied into spending their money, right?

But if they sense in any way that their response was driven by an emotion they wouldn’t have otherwise felt, they’re not going to be happy. While it might not be enough for them to cancel their subscription or services, or to return products they bought, it will definitely leave a bad taste in their mouth. And, ultimately, it can cost your website loyal visitors and customers.

So, if you’re going to use emotional design on a website, do it to improve their experience, not to put more money into your clients’ pockets. That means your emotional design choices need to be honest, transparent, and focused on eliciting naturally positive emotions like:

  • Satisfaction
  • Feeling impressed
  • Trust
  • Calm
  • Feeling valued

Go back to the three emotional reactions I brought up earlier. If you can design a website to give off a positive first impression, and to be pain-free and usable, you can spend the rest of your time injecting small bits of happiness and positivity into the website with color choices, friendly micro-interactions, personalized content, and more.

La prochaine évolution du partenariat entre IBM et SAP vise à créer de la valeur plus rapidement via la transformation des entreprises, à accélérer l’innovation sectorielle grâce à des offres de données à valeur ajoutée spécifiques à chaque secteur, à dynamiser l’expérience client et collaborateur et à leur offrir une flexibilité et un choix ultimes pour exécuter leurs charges de travail dans des environnements de cloud hybride.

Réinventer les flux de travail avec des processus de bout en bout sectoriels intelligents

Annoncé la semaine dernière, l’Industry Cloud de SAP propose des solutions verticales innovantes pour favoriser une transformation rentable et une croissance durable. Pour répondre à la demande du marché en matière d’innovation sectorielle, IBM et SAP ont commencé à définir et à fournir conjointement des solutions basées sur le cloud avec des flux de travail sectoriels intelligents de bout en bout pour permettre aux clients de prendre des décisions commerciales basées sur les données. La première offre portera sur les processus métiers LTO (Lead-To-Order) et Plan-To-Manufacture pour le secteur des machines et composants industriels, afin d’aider les fabricants industriels à réinventer les processus de flux de travail afin d’accroître la productivité et la satisfaction des clients. IBM et SAP ont fait équipe avec les principales entreprises du secteur des machines et composants industriels pour concevoir et développer les capacités futures. En tant que partenaire de développement du service SAP Model Company, IBM travaille également avec SAP au développement d’un service SAP Model Company for Telecommunications qui aidera les fournisseurs de télécommunications à transformer leurs processus de contact avec la clientèle et de back-office, ainsi qu’à optimiser au maximum le rendement de leurs investissements dans la 5G.

Flexibilité grâce aux solutions de cloud hybride

Selon une enquête récente de l’ASUG (Americas’ SAP Users’ Group), une majorité des personnes interrogées ont déclaré qu’elles utilisent ou prévoient d’utiliser SAP S/4HANA dans un modèle de cloud hybride. Les entreprises continuent à faire évoluer rapidement leurs modèles économiques et à reconfigurer leurs processus afin de mieux accompagner leurs clients et répondre aux nouvelles demandes du marché. Beaucoup se tournent vers une stratégie de cloud hybride pour une approche « Intelligent Enterprise ». Afin de donner aux clients la flexibilité nécessaire pour exécuter les charges de travail dans l’environnement cloud le plus optimal, IBM, Red Hat et SAP collaboreront pour apporter les services gérés de SAP sur site en validant les déploiements privés de SAP Cloud Platform et les services de support connexes sur Red Hat OpenShift. Cette solution, actuellement proposée à certains clients pionniers, devrait permettre aux clients de créer des extensions side-by-side avec la sécurité souhaitée, une exigence essentielle pour les clients des secteurs réglementés.

Réimaginer les expériences des clients et des collaborateurs

Avec Internet, les smartphones et les réseaux sociaux, il n’a jamais été aussi facile pour les clients et les collaborateurs de partager leurs observations sur la qualité de leurs expériences avec les entreprises, les produits, les responsables ou les services partagés. L’étude Global C-Suite d’IBM a révélé que 82 % des chefs d’entreprise croient fermement que les données contribuent à créer un avantage stratégique, en consolidant la confiance des clients et en augmentant les profits. Pour aider les entreprises à accroître la valeur à partir des données, IBM et SAP prévoient de fournir des technologies et des services en s’appuyant sur le portefeuille de SAP Customer Experience et les solutions de gestion de l’expérience de SAP (Qualtrics) pour permettre aux clients de fournir une expérience omnicanal de nouvelle génération et de mesurer et améliorer l’efficacité des expériences des parties prenantes. Cette collaboration est conçue pour contribuer à la fidélisation des clients, à l’engagement des clients et des collaborateurs et à la qualité des marques et des produits dans de nombreux secteurs. IBM prévoit d’intégrer l’utilisation des solutions de gestion de l’expérience de SAP dans la réalisation des projets, dans le cadre de la gestion du changement organisationnel d’IBM, afin d’offrir aux clients une expérience de projet différenciée et optimisée.

Automatisation des processus pour accélérer la transformation

IBM et SAP travaillent ensemble à la mise en place de l’IBM Accelerated Move Center, une usine de migration de nouvelle génération conçue pour automatiser et accélérer encore plus la démarche « Intelligent Enterprise » et donner aux clients plus de prévisibilité sur leur transition vers SAP S/4HANA. Cette nouvelle offre sera une approche d’intégration toute prête qui utilise des modèles sectoriels de base préconfigurés et exploite des outils d’automatisation et de configuration créés en collaboration avec IBM Research.

Ces nouvelles offres seront basées sur l’Intelligent Suite de SAP et les solutions Industry Cloud de SAP. Elles permettront aux clients de bénéficier des technologies de SAP et d’IBM telles que l’IA, l’apprentissage automatique, l’automatisation et l’analytique. Ces offres s’appuieront sur la nouvelle plateforme d’évolution d’IBM, qui offre une vue unique sur les solutions IBM et une préconfiguration de ses Industry Impact Solutions, et qui interagit avec la plateforme technologique d’entreprise de SAP. Celai permet aux entreprises de créer des aperçus avancés, d’intégrer des capacités et de créer, étendre et améliorer les applications SAP. Cette combinaison vise à aider les clients à bénéficier plus efficacement de « l’intelligent Suite » de SAP, à migrer vers le cloud, à transformer les données en valeur commerciale et à utiliser les technologies émergentes pour soutenir les flux de travail intelligents.
